Holme Wood Residents urged to join estate clean up

Local residents are being invited to join a big community clean up at Heysham Drive in Holme Wood.

The clean-up takes place next Wednesday, 30th August (10am – 3pm) and is being organised by Incommunities and Bradford Council.

Teams and volunteers will tidy up grassed areas, pathways and car parks and tackle litter ‘hot spots’.

The housing group’s estate operatives will also be on hand to take away bulky items of rubbish and help tidy individual gardens.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the garages by 130 Heysham Drive.

Anna Fryer, Incommunities’ Director of Neighbourhoods, said: "Our staff are looking forward to working with residents and the Council on the clean-up, so if you would like to get involved come along from 10am on the day. By working together we can make a real difference and encourage the whole community to do their bit!"

Coun Abdul Jabar, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Community Safety, said: "I hope as many people as possible will come along to help clean up their streets and make their area a neater and more pleasant place to live. The more people who pitch in the quicker the work can be done."

Incommunities and Council staff will be available to give advice on refuse collections, ways of recycling as well as record any reports of fly-tipping. Residents will also be encouraged to take a more active role in the future of their neighbourhood.
