Residents celebrate Sadaqa Day with great food and fun
Residents at a Bradford retirement living development enjoyed a fun day of friendship and home cooked Asian food courtesy of their local scheme coordinator and volunteers.
The luncheon at Wellesley House was organised to celebrate Sadaqa Day (24 March), the Muslim day of social action and giving.
On the day, Shanaz Dar from Incommunities was joined by family and friends who together served up a mouth watering choice of Asian and English food.
Sadaqa Day is a national event which started in 2015 and aims to bring communities together.
Shanaz Dar, Retirement Living Coordinator at Wellesley House said: "With the help of volunteers and their children we were able to share the joy of giving to everyone at Wellesley House.
"It was a wonderful get together of young and old and their families meeting people of different faiths in a day full of laugher, love, food and friendship. We’re already looking forward to celebrating next year’s Sadaqa Day in style!"
