All community groups that are well used by Incommunities customers were able to apply for the fund by submitting an application.
Lisa Robinson, Centre Manager, Hainworth Wood Road Community Centre, who were one of the winners from the first round of funding in Bingley and Keighley said “We’re extremely grateful for the support which Incommunities has given to the centre in 2024. Without these grants the activities we provide to our young people in the school holidays would not be possible.”
Whilst Kayle McCoy, Project Manager for the United Art Project, who were one of the winners from the Bradford South fund said, “we’re delighted to receive this award from Incommunities that will see artists in Holme Wood and Bierley unite through Arts and Creativity.
“This award gives us the starting point to create and facilitate a long standing creative community made for the BD4 people- by the BD4 people.”
Other winners from the first two rounds include Cottingley Community Centre, who were awarded £5,000, and Holme Wood Library: Community Crafts and Storytime Project who received £7,500 to help support their good work.
A total of 38 groups applied, the winners were chosen by an independent panel made up of Incommunities customers, colleagues, an independent member, and board members.
