Money support for Incommunities customers

Money Matters team

Social housing landlord Incommunities is supporting Talk Money Week – an annual awareness campaign which encourages people to have more open conversations about money management.

Incommunities’ Money Matters team can support customers who are facing money difficulties with help claiming benefits, managing bills, budgeting and getting specialist help with debt.

Nichola Wright, Income and Financial Inclusion Service Head, Incommunities, said: "Talk Money Week is the ideal time for us to further promote the help Incommunities’ Money Matters team can provide its customers. We know that conversations about money and debt can be difficult, and are here to help with information, support and signposting on welfare benefits, maximising income and specialist help with debt."

Held 8-12th November, Talk Money Week – hosted by the Money and Pensions Service – aims to reduce the stigma around money by encouraging conversations among families, friends, customers, colleagues and communities. Talking openly about money can have a huge impact on tackling money worries and is important for our overall health and relationships. The impact of Covid-19 has made it more important than ever to start conversations about money to look after our financial wellbeing.

Caroline Siarkiewicz, Chief Executive, Money and Pensions Service, addded: "As we continue to respond to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, financial wellbeing remains key to the UK’s recovery: a financially healthy nation is good for individuals, communities, business, and the economy. Talk Money Week provides a key opportunity for the nation to break the taboo of discussing money and finances. We are pleased to see so many organisations encouraging conversations about money – from pocket money to pensions – to help people across the country make better informed and more positive decisions about their finances."
