Shipley residents unveil new look patio garden
A smart new communal patio area has been created by a group of Shipley tenants ready for the warm summer weather.
Residents at Northcliffe View sheltered scheme wanted to give the front of their homes a much needed facelift and thanks to lots of hard work and fundraising by the social club they’ve done it.
The patio includes outdoor seating, parasols, border fencing, colourful planted borders and a garden storage unit.
Residents also painted border fencing and the garden furniture and planted an array of bedding plants.
Liz Kelly, Treasurer of the Northcliffe View Social Club, said: "Everyone is very proud of the new outdoor seating area and it’s great to see more residents sitting out and enjoying the sunshine.
"The social club was determined to give the area a summer makeover and everyone’s worked hard to raise the funds needed.
"Now we are looking forward to organising outdoor activities such as barbecues."
Shirley Collins, Incommunities’ Scheme Coordinator at Northcliffe View, said: "It’s great to see residents enjoying the seating area and getting together with other neighbours.
"A big well done to the residents involved. As the scheme coordinator, I feel very proud of their efforts to make Northcliffe View a nicer place to live for everyone."
