The new recruits include Alex Swinbank and Max Armitage (electricians), Nathan Coppack and Jack McNicholas (property maintenance operatives), Harriet Smith (joiner) and Charlie Foster who joins as site surveying technician.
Nathan Coppack property maintenance operative said: "I am really excited about having the opportunity to train as an apprentice and I am keen to get going in my new role and learn what I can.
"I am looking forward to meeting new people, learning more about the housing sector and getting all of my qualifications."
Each apprentice is assigned a mentor from the organisation’s professional teams to train on building projects and repair work as well as develop their skills at the construction training centre. One day a week they will attend college to work towards NVQ qualifications in their particular trade area.
Dennis Wellington, Director of Property Services said: "It’s great to welcome our latest apprentices to Incommunities. Apprentices are at the heart of our business with over 150 successfully completing apprenticeships since we started the programme in 2003. These new starters will join our teams across the business and learn the skills they need to progress with their careers.
"Each new recruit will learn first-hand what it’s like to be part of our experienced construction and surveying teams and will benefit from great training and mentoring, first-hand experience and support."
The apprenticeship programmes at Incommunities range from two to four years in duration and have won awards such as ‘Large Employer of the year 2019’ with the CITB and ‘Advisor of the year 2014’ with Women in Science and Engineering (WISE).
