2. Non Charge Week Content

In November we wrote to 19,452 customers who would be affected by any change to the rent non-charge weeks.

We formally consulted with these customers to get their feedback on the proposal to remove the non-charge weeks. 2317 customers responded to the consultation and based on results, from 7th April all affected customers will be charged their annual rent and service charges over 52 weeks, rather than 48 weeks.

What does this mean for the affected customers?

It is a formal change to the terms of how rent and service charges are charged. It doesn’t mean that they’ll be paying extra rent. They still pay the same amount over the year. They just won’t have the four non-charge weeks; instead, they’ll pay less rent each week than they would have before.

What do the affected customers need to do? 

Any customers who are affected by this change will have received a letter to let them know, and to explain the next steps and action that they need to take.
